Type: White Wine | Country: France | Region: Savoie | Varietal: Gringet | Vintage: 2017
According to Dominque there are three great terroirs in the Savoie: Jongieux, Chignin, and Le Feu: a very steep, south-facing parcel of extremely old, gnarled Gringet vines. The soil on Le Feu is red and iron rich, which gives this vineyard its name (“the fire”) and also informs the taste of the wine. Richer than “Les Alps” and with beautiful red fruit, anise, and tamarind aromas, it's a silky yet firmly structured wine with intense, mouth-coating minerality.
